Free Steam Games You Need to Play Now
Sometimes the best things in life are free.
So, what’s the catch?
Downloading a game with no money down typically means paying later through in-app purchases, frequent ads, or an incomplete experience. Not here. All of the games on this list give you a weekend of enjoyment without having to reach for your wallet. From alternative worlds with surprises at every corner to cozy titles to help you wind down after spending your money elsewhere, these titles keep the fun going even after your wallet quits.
You can find my full list of favorite freebies on my Player GG Games List. Look for updates throughout the year as I play more games that won’t cost you a dollar.
Imagine cramming a crafting game into a first-person, rogue-like game. That’s Muck – a game about collecting resources quickly and efficiently before facing a brutal end. Your character wakes up on an island with the only hope of survival lies in building a boat. Quiet days allow for resource collecting with nights spawning in an ever growing horde of enemies.
There are secrets to find, optional bosses to take on, and plenty of loot to make sure that no two runs are ever the same. Grab a friend and try to survive a night or two.

Twinbeard, Inc.
The classic web game, reborn! Enjoy this remaster in glorious 4k resolution! Follow this frog on its arcade action adventure through swarm of bugs and beyond! Purchase the hat DLC for the ultimate experience, if you want to eat bugs while wearing a hat!
Just download and play the game. Describing what you do and how you do it only spoils the game.
Telling you that there’s something to spoil in this game is a spoiler in its own rights. Download play and then check out the sequels.
How do you check out the sequels? That’s also a spoiler.
Rarely do you ever find a game that states so clearly what’s in the box. 20 Small Mazes is, as you have probably already guessed, a game about 20 small mazes. However, how the game defines a maze and what you need to solve them changes with every set of puzzles. Challenging yet cozy, this title makes for a great weekend or rainy afternoon of fun.
The title roughly translates to “mud puppy” which is also the main character of this game. Spread grime, break things, and cause a bit of chaos in this free to play title about a good dog gone wrong. As you tally up the cleaning bill, you’ll unlock new ways to cause havoc in this house. If you ever wanted to see how good you can be at being a bad puppy, this is the title for you.
The Ultima series used to be the biggest name in PC RPGs, bringing big stories and turn-based battles to the computer screen. Moonring casts “resurrect” on this genre of games while adding in a few modern touches to help keep up with the times. While many of the games on this list breezes by in a couple of sittings, Moonring’s expansive world and complex systems will have you at your screen for far longer. Moonring proves that you don’t need to drop a dime to have a good time.
