Focusing exclusively on the single-player campaign, Modern Warfare 4 marks a welcome return to classic Call of Duty. Varied and cinematic missions, satisfying gunplay, strong sound design, and an engaging story make it an enjoyable experience. However, inconsistent enemy AI, frustrating melee encounters, and limited replayability hold it back. At around 6–9 hours, the campaign alone is difficult to justify at full price, but it remains a strong return to form for the series.
