You're trapped with Mr. Magpie, a twisted corporate mascot. Gamble your life to earn enough money to escape the rat race. Stack the deck and exploit strange synergies to get filthy rich.

Flip the Cards

Flip cards to earn money while avoiding the evil JERRY cards. JERRYs will kill you. Everyone hates JERRY.

Invest

Invest your money in Mr. Magpie's Shop™️to improve your run! Stuff your deck with powerful cards to flip, and build a roster of game warping global Perks.

Greed is Good

Mr. Magpie thinks you can't afford his unreasonably expensive elevator. Prove him wrong.

Be Careful

Push your luck too far and you'll be terminated. With murder!

Features:

• Cryptic yet approachable gameplay. Figuring out how the game works is part of the fun! There is no tutorial, but the game is lovingly crafted to make it enjoyable to learn it for yourself.

• Push your Luck mixed with logical deduction. There are many moments where you must decide whether it's worth it to risk a hit for the chance at more money. If you're clever though, you can sometimes use the hints to deduce where the bad cards are to avoid them. Some players have said it can feel like a "minesweeper roguelike."

• Extreme replayability - Many folks in our playtest have played for more than 40 hours, and we're just getting started!

• 90 unique perks (similar to Relics in Slay the Spire or Jokers in Balatro) with game warping effects. The commons are pretty standard but some of the uncommons and rares get Reaaalllly Weird and totally change the way you play!

• A backrooms-style office space you can walk around in. There's nothing there yet, but we have... plans :)

• Currently there is only one "character class" but we're planning to add more soon.

• The game has been in development with consistent updates for 9 months and we're excited to keep updating it over the coming year. Inspirations

Mr. Magpie is inspired by many things, but here are a few: Inscryption, Severance, Balatro, Dragonsweeper, Luck be a Landlord and Party House (from UFO 50).
