County of Fortune is a different kind of medieval builder, a county-builder played on the scale of an entire region. Instead of placing individual houses or workshops, you establish whole settlements and guide them as they grow, specialize, and shape the land around them. Each village you found contributes to the county’s identity, prosperity, and cultural life, making every decision ripple across the map.
The map is wide and varied, offering landscapes where every location brings its own opportunities. Some areas provide unique natural resources, others are ideal for growing specific crops, and great navigable rivers connecting the distant places. Explore these possibilities and shape a county that reflects the character and diversity of the land.
As your county grows, its social and cultural life begins to change. Noble houses rise in influence, shaping politics across the region, while village mayors bring their own strengths and flaws to local leadership. Cultures emerge from your settlements, affecting how communities cooperate or clash. Managing your county means balancing far more than resources and logistics. You must guide your people as they shape the region alongside you.
