5 Overwhelming Positive Games Not Enough People are Talking About
2026 is a big year for great games -- time to talk about them!
What does it take to have an Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam?
Perseverance?
Talent?
A liter of goat blood?
According to their site, a game must have more than 500 reviews with over 95% of those reviews being positive. Getting to that 500 review milestone is one of the reasons you should try to review as many of the games you like on Steam. Being overwhelmingly positive gives that title a little extra boost when it comes to getting featured on the front page of the store.
Being at the top of your class doesn’t always mean that you’ll be popular. (Let me tell you about middle school.) I’m breaking out 5 games that have wowed their fans and are ready for the spotlight. From quirky point-and-click adventures to rogue-likes that take place in the bowels of your bowels, there’s something here for everyone to check out.

Creature Kitchen
Get ready for some Appalachian cooking. Creature Kitchen resides in the intersection of cozy and creepy. Don’t worry about any jump scares. The game focuses more on feeding the animals and occasional other phenomenon food than keeping you at the edge of your gaming chair. Create dishes through minigames to satisfy the creatures lurking around the house. There’s also a bit of mystery of what each of the creatures want to eat – but you’ll figure it out. I have faith in you.
A juicy first-person incremental game about growing berries and tossing them down an ominous hole. Earn money and upgrades. Make new friends with sentient berry pals. Grow and control the hole as you unearth why nobody leaves this accursed garden. Bury it all, Berry everything.
Berry Bury Berry
If I tell you what this game is about, that’s a spoiler. I’ll try to censor anything you may want to find for yourself later. The game starts out as an odd incremental game about taking berries and dropping as many as you can down a hole in under a minute. Every successfully dropped fruit gives you a coin to buy upgrades for more berries. That’s until you buy the ***.
Use the **** to ****. You’ll find ****, ****, and other such quests that dive deeper into this berry dropping world. Not everything is explained to you so keep a notepad handy and *****. You get it, right?
Endacopia
Again, this is one of those games better experienced than explained. Think early 2000’s point-and-click adventure where nearly everything you touch has a strange interaction behind it. This game stacks on bizarre encounters, boxing minigames, and just enough humor to keep you going between puzzles. Download the demo, give it a whirl, and see if this is your kind of game.
Funi Racoon Game
You play as a little racoon, getting into mischief, and stealing everything not nailed down. In every world, you’ll need to pilfer your fill of goods until you satisfy the needs of your dumpster home.
The game is weird and broken in all of the best ways. You’ll find hats to wear, kittens to rescue, and a truck that lets you crash into any object and deposit it into your dumpster. As you dig further into the waste, the game becomes an environmental puzzle of “what do they want” and “how do I get over there?” If you don’t mind the jank, Funi Racoon Game is one of the more surprising entries this year. Check out the demo.

You are a disease. Infect the human body as a lone pathogen in this cellular roguelike shooter. Collect organelles to evolve your parasite in a microscopic arms race against your host's immune system. Conquer a beautiful, procedurally generated world of tiny proportions.
Pathogenic
Less of a game and more of a “what your colon looks like after eating lettuce in 2026.”
That was a joke. This a game – a great game, in fact, if you enjoy twin-stick shooters and roguelikes. Pathogenic lets you take control of an invading parasite as you take down the body’s defenses with lasers, rockets, and other armament not found in a bag of Taylor Farms salad. Fights happen in tight quarters and with enough bullets to make a bullet hell look like a bullet drizzle. If you are looking for a game to keep your blood pumping and glued to the toilet seat, you need to check out Pathogenic.
Control, I'm Not Coming Back is a short and emotional narrative game about a lost astronaut searching for a reason to keep going forward while facing the emptiness of space. Inspired by the Hopecore aesthetic, it’s a story about positivism, friendship and our human connection with Voyager 1.
Control, I’m Not Coming Back
You are lost, out in space, and things don’t look good for you. And honestly, we all get lost.
Maybe not out in space.
But you get the idea. This is a game for anyone struggling out there and needing a way to find hope when everything looks dark and hopeless. It’s short and free so you really don’t have an excuse to play this game.
If you are looking for other ways to game for free, here’s a list you can start playing now.
