Quest Vibes Vol. 1 - Andrew One Interview & Denshattack
Quest Vibes Vol. 1 features Andrew One, his career in composing, gaming soundtrack production, and his monumental work on the Denshattack soundtrack featuring a ton of amazing artists.

Welcome to the first edition of Quest Vibes, a series where I dive into interviews and retrospectives centered around gaming soundtracks and composers. In this first volume, I sit down with Andrew One to talk about Denshattack!

Thank you to Kid Katana Records for putting together this interview, and to Andrew One for taking time out of his very busy schedule to chat!

Andrew One is a Portuguese composer, producer, and audio engineer known for his work on video game soundtracks, especially retro-inspired styles. He has worked closely with other composers, producing, mixing, and mastering soundtracks for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge and G.I. Joe: Wrath of the Cobra.
Now he has led a team of epic proportions, with his latest project moving from behind the scenes to the front page. I chat with him about the Denshattack soundtrack, his early projects, where he’s been, and what he has on the horizon.

Below, I highlighted the songs we brought up in the interview for you to check out. Here is the main soundtrack and more! Buy this soundtrack; it’s insanely low-priced for the 80 songs you get.
Denshattack! (Original Game Soundtrack) | Tee Lopes, Sean Bialo, Andrew One | Kid Katana Records
My favorite song is I Like The Way, and it was the original song Andrew wrote to pitch to the Kid Katana Records team to land this gig in the first place.

One of Andrew’s highlights is an up-and-coming composer in the gaming space, Daan Demmers. Trick Terminal fits the pop vibe perfectly, and those guitar riffs continue on a journey all the way to the end.

One of Andrew’s favorites is Take Me Higher by Tee Lopes, a fellow producer and long-time friend and collaborator. Tee is featured heavily on the release, and you will not be disappointed by his amazing work.

This one was a surprise as I didn’t know Tee raps in Japanese on the track! Another one of Andrew’s favorites, and I get why. Check out Gozan No Okrubi.
