True Love Story: Summer Days, and yet...

Enterbrain

Morisaki Yuuta moved into the city after his mother's death with his older sister; Ruri and attended the same highschool. In the school corridor, he bumped into a student in the name of Kusunose Hina who participates in the Tennis Club. From that moment onward, Yuuta remembered his childhood promise he made to the girl whom he used to play with when his mother was still alive. Set in an endless summer, the goal is to build a romance with one of the heroines. The game is similar to True Love Story 2 but features a "daily goal" system to guide your actions and track relationship progress through levels. Each heroine has two storylines, with one hidden character having just one. Key gameplay changes include a "redo the day" option and a topic level system that affects conversations.

True Love Story 3

True Love Story 3

Game Club, Enterbrain

True Love Story 3 follows a male protagonist in his third year of junior high as he aims to confess his love, particularly to his longtime crush, Aotsuki Takane, whom he's introduced to by his twin sister, Kaname. The game stands out for its high interactivity, with frequent repeated stock dialogues. Players track characters’ friendship and affection levels using a triangular chart, which they can check through Kaname. Instead of playing every day, players choose specific “try-your-best days,” which impact enthusiasm and event frequency. Its most unique feature is the detailed conversation system. On sunny weekdays, the player can attempt to walk home with a girl, triggering a complex dialogue mini-game. The goal is to raise her "heartthrob gauge" without overloading her pounding heart, and possibly score a date.

Bokosuka Wars

Bokosuka Wars

ASCII Entertainment, Enterbrain

This game revolves around a leader who must lead an army in phalanx formation across a battlefield in real-time against overwhelming enemy forces while freeing and recruiting soldiers along the way, with each unit able to gain experience and level up through battle. The player must make sure that the leader stays alive, until the army reaches the enemy castle to defeat the leader of the opposing forces. The game was responsible for laying the foundations for the tactical role-playing game genre, or the "simulation RPG" genre as it is known in Japan, with its blend of role-playing and strategy game elements. The game has also variously been described as an early example of an action role-playing game, an early prototype real-time strategy game, and a unique reverse tower defense game. In its time, the game was considered a major success in Japan.

RPG Maker

Kuusou Kagaku, Enterbrain, Agetec, ASCII Entertainment Software, Inc.

In RPG Maker, players with absolutely no programming experience or prior game-production skills can make their own role-playing quests and save them to the PlayStation memory card for themselves or a friend to enjoy. The world creation in the game is tile-based, and the entire game is done in the 2D style of 16-bit era RPGs. Players can create characters, towns, dungeons and script action to move along at a certain pace. They will place treasures, enter dialogue and create events that are triggered by certain actions within the game world. Although players can create nearly anything they like with the game, it must be more or less contained in a fantasy theme, as the only graphics available adhere to that specific genre. Within that genre, however, the possibilities are varied, and you can make your new RPG a massive epic or a short jaunt. It can be utterly serious or laced with juvenile humor. Also contained within RPG Maker is a mode called Anime Maker, where those with the desire can create 2D pictures and animate them accordingly.
