Crysis 3: The Lost Island

Crysis 3: The Lost Island

Crytek, Electronic Arts

Crysis 3: The Lost Island expansion pack transports players to a lush tropical island located off the coast of Ling Shan, the setting for the events of the original Crysis. With 4 beautiful new multiplayer maps; Ascent, Coastline, Creek & Crossing, The Lost Island also includes 2 new multiplayer modes, 2 new weapons and a host of new challenges to unlock. Frenzy adds a new dimension to deathmatch, a cycling weapon loadout every 60 seconds keeps tension high as players can only respawn during the next loadout change. Ultima VIII: Gold Edition

Ultima VIII: Gold Edition

Origin Systems, Electronic Arts

The Guardian has tricked you, Avatar. After you defeated Batlin on Serpent's Isle, he banished you to Pagan, a world under his control. Once, it was a beautiful land, but ever since the ancient battle between the Elemental Titans and the evil "Destroyer", it is engulfed in eternal twilight. Titans - now worshiped as gods - are cruel and uncaring. They bestow power on their most dedicated followers who, in turn, terrorize Pagan's population. To find a way back home, you need to become a Titan yourself before the Guardian succeeds in his plot to conquer Britannia--and then Earth itself. The eighth installment of the Ultima series takes a much darker tone. The story is much more mature (do the ends justify the means?) and the game focuses more on action, like climbing and jumping across platforms. Training your character has also changed: the more you use an ability, the better you are with it. Without a party to assist you, you must rely on your own strength, dexterity, intelligence, and magical abilities to save Britannia and Earth. Dark, engrossing story with a moral dilemma: will you accept evil for the sake of the greater good? Much more action-oriented than previous installments with fluent and responsive combat mechanics and new ways to explore the unknown. Living world: each inhabitant has his or her own schedule, going about ordinary business in Pagan. Includes the speech pack: some of the major game characters are fully voiced.

Blockout

Blockout

Logical Design Works, Tec Toy, Technos Japan, Rainbow Arts, California Dreams, American Technos, Electronic Arts, Sega Entertainment, Atari, Acclaim Japan

Blockout is a puzzle videogame, created in 1989 by Polish developer - California Dreams, designed by Aleksander Ustaszewski and Mirosław Zabłocki. The game is the logical extension of Tetris into the third dimension. In Tetris, the player manipulates a set of tetrominoes which fall into a two-dimensional pit (seen from the side). The aim is to solve a real-time packing problem by forming complete rows, which then disappear and score points. Poor play leads to incomplete rows, caused by inefficient arrangements of tiles; these rows do not disappear, giving the player progressively less space and less time to play subsequent pieces. Similarly, in Blockout, the player manipulates a set of polycubes which fall into a three-dimensional pit (seen from above; the pieces appear in the foreground and fall away). The pieces can be rotated around all three axes, and moved horizontally and vertically. The aim is to form complete layers.

Need for Speed: World

Need for Speed: World

EA Singapore, Quicklime Games, Electronic Arts

Need for Speed: World was the fifteenth installment in the long-running racing video game Need for Speed franchise published by Electronic Arts. World was released worldwide on July 27, 2010. However, people who ordered a "Starter Pack" had an early "head-start" in the game, which started on July 20, 2010. Need for Speed: World, along with other EA free-to-play titles Battlefield Heroes, Battlefield Play4Free, and FIFA World, went offline on July 14, 2015.

SiN Episodes

Ritual Entertainment, Electronic Arts

Planned as an episodic sequel to SiN, set 4 years after the end of the game, only 1 of the planned 9 episodes were released. The episodes were going to be playable in any order with independent story segments, planned playtime of 4-6 hours, with an overarching story. Initially aiming for a development cycle of 4-6 months between releases, there was plans for changing future episodes depending on what players did in the previous ones. To do this, specific gameplay data was recorded and could be uploaded anonymously by players at any time. This information included gameplay options like the difficulty level, assistance level and use of cheats as well as stats like weapon specific kills, deaths per map, secrets found, completion time and highscores for those playing on Hardcorps mode. "SiN Episodes: Emergence launches the new era of episodic gaming. A first person shooter powered by Valve's award-winning Source technology, SiN Episodes offers unprecedented interactivity, an engrossing story, and a revolutionary dynamic difficulty system that provides a custom experience based on your skill level and play style."
