Rockman EXE 4.5: Real Operation

Rockman EXE 4.5: Real Operation

Capcom Production Studio 2, Capcom

A Japan-exclusive Battle Network game that serves as a NetNavi simulator. Rockman.EXE 4.5 is a spin-off of the Mega Man Battle Network series. It is a simulation game where NetNavis are controlled by the AI, with the players "slotting-in" BattleChips and issuing commands. It was made to be used with the BattleChip toys and BattleChip Gate accessory, which was almost certainly the cause of the title's Japan-exclusivity. The accessories are not required, but without them the game becomes much more difficult. The game features MegaMan.EXE, the twelve Navis that contribute DoubleSouls in Mega Man Battle Network 4, and other miscellaneous Navis. Several of the Navis in the latter category would later become playable in Battle Network 5 and 6. On the PET screen, the background music is a remix of the chosen Navi's Classic series stage theme (if applicable).

Rockman EXE The Medal Operation

Rockman EXE The Medal Operation

Capcom

Rockman EXE: The Medal Operation is a medal arcade game from the Medalusion series released in 2005 only in Japan. This is the second medal game to the Rockman.EXE series, and is themed on Rockman.EXE 5. The player moves on a board that contains different panels, some with six types of mini games, battle games, and a bonus game, some of them including a fishing mini game and a "Super Battle Game" against Nebula Gray. There are three slots below the screen that are used for several parts of the game to make decisions by making medals fall around, and the slot a medal falls in will be the choice, which varies from which path the player will take and which hand he will use in a rock-paper-scissors mini game. Players can win prizes like medals (arcade tokens) or packs of milk chocolate by completing the games.

Mega Man ZX

Mega Man ZX

Inti Creates, Capcom

This game contains elements from the Mega Man X series and the Mega Man Zero series. The game introduces a new open-ended gameplay environment and the ability to select the protagonist's gender, a first in the series. The player's character, Vent or Aile, is on a 2-dimensional overlay map with sprites where he or she engages enemies to finish the mission. When Vent and Aile receive a Biometal, they are able to change form, gaining various abilities, such as the charge moves, or charging their weapon with an element of that Biometal; for example, Biometal H will charge the weapon with electricity. While in a special form, using the form-specific abilities use up weapon energy. When Vent and Aile receive the other half of the Biometal, they are able to perform a different special ability.

Capcom

Mega Man Star Force takes place in the fictional year of 220X where two hundred years have passed after the finale of Mega Man Battle Network series, when emphasis on internet technology has lessened, and instead, the world has become networked through use of EM Waves. Three large satellites orbiting the Earth—Pegasus, Leo, and Dragon—power the EM Wave World that exists around the Earth's atmosphere, keeping the world networked. While the EM Wave World is normally invisible to the human eye, a special piece of eyewear called the Visualizer (possessed by the series's main protagonist) allows a human to see this other world. However, like with the cyber worlds of Battle Network, EM Wave Viruses inhabit the EM Wave World, causing problems in everyday life.

Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter

Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter

Capcom

Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter is a radical departure from the previous titles of the Breath of Fire series, and in some ways from standard Japanese-style role-playing games in general. The game is built like a huge dungeon crawler, with no overworld map. The combat is tactical: each character has action points (AP), which can be used to move around the screen during an enemy encounter, and perform a variety of combo attacks. There is no magic in the game, and many of the items found in dungeons are random. All the enemies are visible on screen. Depending on who first initiated a physical contact, the party or the enemies get an extra turn in battles. The game allows (and even encourages) the player to restart it from the beginning, keeping the items and the party experience. The game also features a special counter - Ryu can use his traditional dragon transformation abilities, but the counter raises with each such transformation, and when the counter reaches 100, the game is over. Raising the D-ratio allows characters to access new areas every time the game is replayed.
