Spider-Man 2

Spider-Man 2

Vicarious Visions

The PlayStation Portable version of Spider-Man 2 uses the same engine as 2002's Spider-Man. Because of this, the gameplay is virtually unchanged, and many locations from the first game are reused, as is its scoring system, which assigns players a score at the end of each level based on various factors, such as the time taken to complete the level and the number of combos used. The player can crawl walls and web swing, though Spider-Man is only able to move forward in a straight line. They can also lock their camera onto certain enemies and web them. As Spider-Man, players must master new combo moves as they protect the city of Manhattan from the nefarious Doc Ock and other classic Marvel villains by swinging, jumping and wall-crawling through 19 new levels that extend beyond the film. Featuring an unprecedented depth of gameplay, players experience original storylines and battle through graphically rich 3D environments. Swing, climb and web-sling through interactive 3D environments while experiencing scenarios, settings and characters based on the hit film and others that are exclusive to the game. In addition to Doc Ock, gamers must battle a plethora of characters in Spider-Man's legendary Rogue's Gallery of villains, such as Mysterio, Rhino, Shocker and Vulture. Utilizing the graphical power of the PSP, Spider-Man 2 delivers amazing console-like 3D graphics and incredibly immersive gameplay never before seen in a handheld Spider-Man game. Beyond Spider-Man's signature set of moves which include wall crawling, web yanking and capture webbing, Spider-Man 2 PSP brings a host of new moves to the handheld such as the "cocoon," "web net" and "heavy web ball."

Vicarious Visions, Activision Publishing

Tony Hawk returns with an all new line-up of skaters, an all new line-up of parks to crash through, and a whole new level of graphics. The create a skater mode returns, allowing for even further levels of options for your character, like adding glasses and tatoos to changing the colour of the knee and elbow pads or even the hair. And the levels themselves that you must skate through are now more interactive, with cars and humans blocking paths and making noise as you race around to make as many points as possible. Use items around the streets or the park to jump from or over to increase your score, and pull of as many wild and wacky tricks as you can.

Spider-Man vs. Doc Ock

Spider-Man vs. Doc Ock

Vicarious Visions, Sony Pictures Mobile

Spider-Man vs Doc Ock is one of several mobile games based on the film Spider-Man 2. It consists of three stages with different gameplay in each. The first one is a side-scrolling platform level with automatic running. Two buttons are used: one for swinging between rooftops and one for shooting a web at enemies standing in the way. In the second stage, Spider-Man runs through a subway tunnel and has to avoid oncoming trains. It's possible to jump up to the ceiling to avoid the trains but it is necessary to jump back down to avoid hitting a barrier. The third and final stage is a battle against Doc Ock. He attacks with his mechanical arms which Spider-Man has to web up. Once all arms are webbed it is possible to capture the villain. Once all stages have been completed the game restarts at a higher difficulty.

Shrek 2

Shrek 2

Vicarious Visions, Activision

The gruff but lovable ogre returns to Game Boy Advance in this platform-hopping adventure that encourages teamwork among a small squad of onscreen characters. Players control Shrek and up to three of his companions as they side-scroll through levels based on locations in the feature film sequel Shrek 2. Different obstacles require the abilities of different characters to overcome them, so players must switch between their chosen team members as each situation requires. Shrek is strong enough to move objects that others can not, for example, while Donkey is able to kick open doors and Fiona can slow down time for easier attacks. The game also features characters and areas not seen in the film, offering fans new fairy tale people to meet and lands to explore.
