Dynasty Warriors 5: Xtreme Legends is a standalone expansion to Dynasty Warriors 5. It brings back Xtreme Mode and Legend Mode from Dynasty Warriors 4: Xtreme Legends while introducing Destiny Mode where players can fight under one of the three kingdoms as an edit officer.

Dynasty Warriors 4: Empires is a strategy-oriented variant of Dynasty Warriors 4, mixing it with gameplay similar to Romance of the Three Kingdoms. The heart of the game, campaign mode, begins by choosing any of 24 regions and 42 rulers (custom characters can be created). Beginning with a small kingdom, the ultimate goal is the conquering of all others. Each turn, the player is given a choice from 4 different governing options (brought to your attention by your generals) followed by a single decision of action. These actions typically include the invasion or defense of a specific province or the option to aid an allied empire with those same actions.

Dynasty Warriors 5 Empires (真･三國無双4 Empires) is the second expansion for Dynasty Warriors 5. Like the previous Empires expansion, the game focuses on the player's ability to simulate a leader taking and controlling territory, eventually becoming a powerful leader controlling China. They can form helpful alliances with other factions, recruit powerful officers to their side, use tactics to gain the upper hand against foes, etc.

In this latest edition, players can experience Ancient China's greatest and most glorious war as an all-powerful lord or as an officer. As a lord, gamers must think strategically. By deciding when to attack, when to resist invasion, or when to initiate policies, a lord can expand their power and influence. An easy-to-learn card collecting system lets players enact policies that will increase their empire's strength, improve the abilities of their forces, and more. The cards that a player receives will depend on the attributes of the officers and their army. Players can also pledge their allegiance to a kingdom to become an officer. As an officer, players can suggest policies in the kingdom's war council, complete missions for rewards, or even turn against their ruler should relations sour. Most eagerly awaited by fans is a game mode that allows players to create their own warrior. DYNASTY WARRIORS 6: Empires features an extensive character editing system with options to customize a warrior's gender, build, skin tone, facial features, voice, clothing, weapon and more. Whomever players choose to be, they can now use mountain ledges and waterways to infiltrate enemy bases and launch surprise attacks on supply depots to change the flow of battle.

It's time to team up with the legendary Dynasty Warriors and save Ancient China. Rival kingdoms and hordes of rebel soldiers are on the attack. In Dynasty Warriors DS: Fighter's Battle, players must reunite a divided nation by taking on the role of one of three new characters, each with their own special attribute: the Phoenix (key attribute: balance), the Dragon (key attribute: speed), and the Chimera (key attribute: power). Using a "Battle Deck" of cards, players select up to seven of the original Dynasty Warriors to serve as officers who will defend their bases. A new "Obstacle Roulette System" lets players unleash tactics or spells using cards from the players' Battle Deck. These Obstacle attacks can disrupt an opponent's progress and are crucial to victory, especially in the game's wireless Vs. mode.

Pirate Warriors is an action game incorporating elements from both the Dynasty Warriors series and the One Piece series. The game's story mode, Main Log, allows the player to play through the storyline. The Adventure mode uses Luffy to play through the events of the One Piece series and the battle mode allows the player to use characters in battles. In Another Log, the player can play through a character's storyline. With it are several stories exclusive to the game. In addition to the game itself, the collector's edition will exclusively offer the "Thousand Sunny", the ship on which Luffy's crew sails the seas towards a horizon of adventures.

On July 18, 2013, a massive update was released in the Japanese version of Dynasty Warriors Online, changing the name of 真・三國無双 Online to 真・三國無双 Online Z. This update adds the new feature of "Weapon Swapping" similar to Dynasty Warriors 7. Characters and soldiers have been remodeled with their Dynasty Warriors 7 appearances. The intro of the game has been changed, featuring the same three characters from the first in a revised state.

Dynasty Warriors 6 PlayStation 2 (真・三國無双 5 Special, Shin Sangoku Musou 5 Special) is a revised and overhauled version of Dynasty Warriors 6. It features many changes that were not in the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 versions. The American version of Dynasty Warriors 6: Special is not on two discs like the Japanese port. This title is advertised in Asia as the "completely revised" version of Dynasty Warriors 6.
