Nintendo Entertainment Analysis & Development, Nintendo SPD, Nintendo

The Gold Classics Pack (Golden Classic Course Pack in Japan) is a downloadable Coin Rush pack released on November 27th, 2012. It was made to celebrate the world coin total reaching 300 billion gold coins in New Super Mario Bros. 2 for the Nintendo 3DS. The pack consists of level designs inspired by past Super Mario games such as Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 3. As a direct consequence of the circumstances behind its creation, it came out as the sixth pack, while the original sixth pack, Coin Challenge C, as well as the planned seventh DLC pack, Platform Panic Pack, were released as the seventh and eighth DLC packs, respectively. It is rated one out of five stars, meaning "very easy". This pack uses 2 blocks from the SD Card's memory. From its release until the end of January 2013, the Gold Classics pack was free to download

BS F-Zero Grand Prix 2

BS F-Zero Grand Prix 2

Nintendo Entertainment Analysis & Development, St. GIGA, Nintendo

This is the SoundLink version of BS F-Zero Grand Prix 2, which is the direct sequel to the original F-Zero game released for the Super Famicom via the Satellaview. Two versions were released - a non-SoundLink game and a SoundLink game. Little is known about this SoundLink version outside of surviving videos, but it was distributed in two halves in August 1997 and had a similar announcer and redone soundtrack as the previous Satellaview entry. At least the first week rearranged a few courses, and replaced two with new locations called "Forest I" and "Forest II". Presuming no areas were repeated, this likely means the SoundLink version had twice as many courses total. In addition, it can be seen that the player cannot choose between Grand Prix and Practice modes in the SoundLink version; as it was a live broadcast, the player is forced to play each course in a timed Practice mode, and then the Grand Prix race.

Super Mario 64 2

Nintendo Entertainment Analysis & Development, Nintendo

Super Mario 64 2 was the tentative title for a Mario game in development that served as the direct sequel to Super Mario 64, intended for release in 1999. It was going to be for the Nintendo 64DD, but was canceled early in production due to lack of progress and the commercial failure of the 64DD add-on. Only one demo level was ever made but was never publicly revealed. It is also possible that Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy, or Super Mario Galaxy 2 could have elements salvaged from the development of Super Mario 64 2, according to Nintendo during an E3 event. Luigi was also set to appear in this game, as was a rideable Yoshi. It can be assumed that Luigi would have been playable, as Shigeru Miyamoto had planned to make Super Mario 64 2 multiplayer – in fact, the first playable demo level was multiplayer.

Welcome to GameCube World!! (also known by the informal name Peach's Castle) is a tech demo for Nintendo GameCube. In 2001, Nintendo sent various developers an interactive Tech Demo in order to show them the graphical capabilities of their new console as part of the Nintendo GameCube Software Development Kit. In this demo, the player controls a red arrow that can go through various places in Peach's Castle from Super Mario 64. In different rooms it shows different graphical effects, which includes the following: large textures, bumps and shadows, anti-aliasing, local lighting, projection textures, environment mapping, and maximum polygons. The castle is referred to in the game as Peach Castel (castel is an old French word for castle).

Cabbage

Nintendo Entertainment Analysis & Development, Nintendo

A virtual pet breeding and raising game for the 64DD that was being developed by Shigesato Itoi, Shigeru Miyamoto and Pokémon producer Tsunekazu Ishihara. In the game, you raised and cared for an unspecified creature. The game used the 64DD's internal clock so the creature and the world it was in would continue to grow and change, even when the game wasn't being played. It was also intended that the creature could be transferred to a Game Boy cartridge so players could continue to care for the creature on the move. Expansion kits for the game were also planned, although it was unclear how these would have been distributed. The game was discussed a number of times during 64DD development, and a playable version of the game was planned to be shown at Nintendo Spaceworld 2000, but it never appeared. In an interview, Shigeru Miyamoto stated that the game had been dropped due to the team being busy with other projects. It is believed that several of the game's ideas were later used in Animal Crossing and Nintendogs.
