beatmania 4thMIX is a rhythm game developed by Konami. It is the fourth numbered game in the beatmania series (but 5th beatmania arcade game) and is part of the BEMANI franchise. The game is played with a controller with one turn table and 5 keys, three white and two black. On the screen you will see bars moving from the top to bottom in columns representing each of the keys and the turntable. When the bars reach the judgement line it is time to scratch. beatmania 4thMIX is the first big redesign of the series, it features a brand new interface. Difficulty is now on a scale from 1 to 7. All songs have been given a single and double mode chart. Song list shows not only genre and title, but artist as well. Although all previous beatmania songs have been removed. a brand-new set of 23 songs was added as a replacement. It is the first time that licensed songs makes an appearance in the series, as well as crossovers from other BEMANI games.

Sony's innovative EyeToy USB Camera is used to place the player on the screen as they take part in games requiring a series of physical movements from players. U Move Super Sports features mini-games including Perfect Goal, where the player lines up to save a penalty against a CPU striker, Hole in One a brilliant golf simulation and Rugby Crash, wherein players must physically tackle a rugby player. Additional games include Ball-Tossing Aliens, a second football mini-game called Yellow Card, and Sling Shot all of which will test the player's reflexes to their limits. As an aside to the fun of the sub-games, U Move Super Sports also boasts a number of sub-stages within the game's 'Art Studio' mode that introduces a more puzzle-based aspect to the game.

There is a fairy-tale story of a traveling prince who falls in love with a princess but are torn apart. While leading a normal high school life including academics, club activities and part-time work, it is also possible to become friendly with boys who can make a declaration of love on graduation day.
