SteamDB x Nexus Mods
And the Future of SteamDB!

Seems SteamDB will be joining Nexus Mods soon, according to an update from xPaw on the SteamDB blog. SteamDB is a tried-and-true "database for everything Steam," and you have probably used a tool of theirs at some point in your lifetime on Steam.
This merger seems to be more of a partnership than a full-out acquisition of the company and name, which hopes to give xPaw and the SteamDB team the resources they need to keep providing their tools to Steam users!
"Nexus Mods has been serving gaming communities for more than two decades and, like SteamDB, grew from a passion project into a service relied upon by tens of millions of people. What mattered most to me was finding a team that understands what it means to be responsible for something the community depends on, and that shares my belief in building useful tools for gamers." said xPaw on their blog.
Having started a passion project with two people in 2013 for it to grow into a tool that many people use daily, and with COVID happening to increase those numbers, Pavel has been feeling the need for a partnership that would work for SteamDB and not the other way!
This is where Nexus Mods came into play!
"SteamDB is exactly the kind of project we want to be a home for. Pavel has spent 13 years building something remarkable that millions of gamers, developers and publishers have come to rely on. We don't take the responsibility of becoming its next steward lightly.
Our job isn't to change what makes SteamDB special. It's to give it the resources, team and long-term stability it deserves, while building a sustainable foundation that allows us to keep investing in and improving it for many years to come." stated Victor Folmann, CEO of Nexus Mods.
With this support, I hope xPaw gets to grow SteamDB to even higher standards while giving themselves breathing room with costs and development thanks to Nexus Mods.
But will anything change with SteamDB?
Well, xPaw shared, "SteamDB will continue to be SteamDB. The goal is not to change what makes the project special, but to give it the resources, development capacity and long-term stability that I could no longer provide alone."
So it looks like SteamDB and their team will get the support and resources they need while staying true to the vision that xPaw has had since 2013!
Good luck to xPaw and SteamDB in the future!
