steamruns suggests:
a couple of games you've probably missed
about 11,314 games (by my own count) have been released on Steam in the first six months of 2026 and i've seen almost every single one of them. i am quite tired. unfortunately, while i've seen every game, i don't have the time nor the money to play every game but i have played some good ones.
Loot Draggin' is a very small, but highly replayable arcade-style game where you steal as much money from a dragon's nest as possible. you run in, you hop around, you dive for loot, and you slide out with your treasure before you get hit. the more successful escapes/thefts, the harder things become and 3 hits means you, and your run, is over. Loot Draggin' feels fantastic to play, is dangerously easy to pick up for "just one more run", and while your single run might only last a minute or two, your play session will last much, much more.
Mace Knight is another arcade-style game except this time you're not directly competing for high scores, you've also got levels to beat, weapons to unlock (one of them is a dog), and bosses to get absolutely crushed by. and they will crush you. i guarantee it. also, while Mace Knight labels itself in part as a "Bullet Hell" it's a rather unique one. in order to attack your enemies you can't just shoot them while backing away defensively. instead you have to think about your position, your enemies position, and your mace's position because in order to defeat anything in this game it has to be between you and your mace when you reel it in. and you have to reel it in because its chain only goes so far. it's a mechanic that forced me to think much more about positioning and timing than my brain as the capacity for. Mace Knight is difficult, unique, and fun. also i don't think a single person has gotten the "true" ending yet so...good luck champ!
WTF AM I PLAYING?! is a fair question, especially after the second level where you, a chef at a fast food burger place, serve burgers to bigger burgers while your piece of pizza boss demands you work faster. when you haven't worked fast enough (and you will not be able to) you must fight your pizza boss to the death. if you think the insanity stops there you are wrong. i won't spoil the other levels and many surprises this game has in store but i will answer the question...WTF AM I PLAYING?!
WTF AM I PLAYING?! is a surprisingly great first person shooter with a wide variety of levels, themes, gimmicks, and weapons. this game feels great to play, constantly put a smile on my face, and the trailer below is really only scratching the surface.
i hope one of these games stood out to you but if not come check out @steamruns where i look at every single game released on Steam every single day of the year. i make a short 90 second video featuring all of them because i want to help people find games that no one else is looking at. thanks for reading!
