About Me

Hello! My name is Janet Garcia (social handle: Gameonysus). I've been a video game critic and content creator since 2015, and I've been gaming since 1999. I play a little bit of almost everything. My gaming habits are driven by my desire to keep trying new stuff: crafting an annual top 10 games list, finding hidden gems along the way, and ultimately broadening my tastes and deepening my knowledge.

My favorite genres are platformers, action/adventure, narrative, cozy, typing, hidden-object, and spot-the-difference games. That said, some of my favorite games aren't any of those genres (like Slay the Spire 2 and Splatoon)!

If we share similar tastes, following along is easy. But even if we don't, I think you'll find my analysis informative.

Some credentials

I've been a video game consultant for four years, working behind the scenes to provide feedback to developers. I'm currently on every video game podcast (MinnMax, Pew Pew Bang, Remap Radio, Jump Rank Repeat, The Indie Council, and The Gangcast). And you can read more of my writing at PenToPixels.com.
